Porsche Cayman R Wallpaper

Porsche Cayman R
2010 LA Motorshow :Porsche Cayman R Wallpaper

Porsche’s reveal at the LA show is the new Cayman R, which is lighter and more powerful than the Cayman S by 55 kg and 10 hp respectively. The R was “designed for spectacular road behaviour” with a specially adapted sports chassis, providing “an even more precise driving experience than the Cayman S”, which is the already the best driving Porsche to some.

The 3.4-litre flat six gains 10 horses to make 330 hp (torque remains at 370 Nm). With a six-speed manual, 0-100 km/h is achieved in 5.0 seconds flat, while the seven-speed PDK twin-clutch ‘box is faster by 0.1 sec. The optional Sport Chrono package takes the time further down to 4.7 seconds. Top speed is 282 km/h for the manual or 280 km/h with PDK. The car without the clutch pedal is rather frugal with 9.3 l/100 km combined consumption.

For comparison, the Cayman S does the century sprint in 5.2 (manual) and 5.1 seconds (PDK) while top speed is 277 km/h for the stick shift and 275 km/h for the PDK model.

The main aim of the Cayman R was to improve performance, driving dynamics and agility through weight reduction. At just 1,295 kg, the R’s improved power-to-weight ratio stands at 3.9 kg per horsepower (4kg/hp for PDK). Savings were achieved through the use of lightweight components and doing without convenience equipment (air con, stereo). The Cayman flagship also comes with the lightest 19″ wheels Porsche has. The complete rim set weighs less than 40 kg.

The Cayman R sits 20 mm lower than the S and comes with an LSD as standard. The fuel tank is also smaller (by 10 litres) at 54 litres. To spot a Cayman R, look for the fixed rear spoiler, black-framed headlights, black wing mirrors and the ‘Porsche’ decals on the side (in contrasting black or silver, depending on the body colour). The ‘Peridot’ colour of this car is exclusive to the R.

Techart has release its upgrade kit for the 2011 Porsche Cayenne and I have to give it a thumbs up eventhough I am not a fan of modified vehicles.the German tuner has focused on the Cayenne's looks releasing a subtle optics package, full interior upgrades and custom wheels.

The exterior of the Cayenne can be upgraded with trims painted in custom color or in carbon fiber and sport tail pipes in polished stainless steel, while customers can also choose from a variety of alloy wheel designs in numerous colors and sizes between 20- and 23-inches. TechArt also offers an engine styling package that includes a carbon cover.

Interior enhancements include a full leather interior treatment in new color options, a three-spoke TechArt steering wheel with paddle shifters, aluminum pedals, a rear-seat-entertainment system, leather-edged logo floor mats and more.

There are on going debates regarding the actual designer of these Porsche Wallpapers presented here in Autoblog. Apparently these renderings is a result of a 13 year old child. You be the judge to that fact.

Here's the deal: Team Speed forum user PorscheCarreraGTMay6 has been so kind as to share his vision of what a genuine Porsche hybrid racer might look like. That's all fine and good. After all, the internet is awash with plenty of Photoshopped what-ifs, but what makes these really special is that A) the person claims to be 13 years-old and B) the renders are drop-dead gorgeous and C) there's a good chance we're going to see a 918 Spyder racer within the next few years. The user even cranked out a YouTube video and a solid description of the reasoning behind the model.

Porsche 911 GT2 RS

The new Porsche 911 GT2 RS has been unveiled and it’s being touted as the most powerful street legal Porsche of all time. The claim is backed by a 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine boosted by two turbochargers with variable turbine geometry to produce an incredible 620 hp. With just 1,370 kilograms to pull, 0 to 100 km/h is done in 3.5 seconds while 200 km/h appears in 9.8 seconds, a shorter time than some cars’ century sprint time. If you’ve got a death wish, continue to keep the pedal to the metal and you’ll be at 300 km/h in 28.9 seconds, by when you’ll still have 30 km/h to go before reaching maximum velocity.

Compared with the “standard” GT2, power has been increased by 90 hp while weight has been reduced by 70 kg. Power to weight ratio is one horsepower to propel every 2.21 kilos into a blur. All the grunt is channeled through a six-speed manual gearbox on to the 325/30 ZR 19 rear tyres. With all that performance, how can a GT2 RS owner possibly coax out the claimed 11.9 L/100 km fuel consumption is anyone’s guess. CO2 emissions of 284 g/km is down by 5%.

With great power comes great brakes, so PCCB composite ceramic brakes are standard here. Driving dynamics are maintained by RS spring set-up, PASM Porsche Adaptive Suspension Management, anti-roll bars, dynamic engine mounts and PSM Porsche Stability Management.

Flared wheel arches and wide wheels give the RS a muscular stance while the use of matte black finished carbon-fibre-reinforced (CFR) components around the car adds a touch of sportiness. The light-alloy wheels with central locking are exclusive to this model while ”GT2 RS“ model designations on the doors and rear lid leaves no doubt about its identity. Aero parts include an upgraded front spoiler lip and a rear spoiler lip which is now 10 mm higher, made of CFR and as of course, finished in carbon fibre.

The sporting theme continues inside with lightweight bucket seats (in CFR plastic) and door panels. The latter is closed with door straps instead of the usual door handles for a race car feel. Most of the interior is black but the roof lining, seats, seat belts, gearshift and handbrake are red, the latter two in alcantara.

Only 500 of these monsters will be built so your 199,500 euros investment is bound to be exclusive. A fully kitted up GT2 RS can cost up to 237,578 euros.

Porsche tuning specialist TechArt released details on a second aero package for the latest 911 Turbo & it is more aggressive than the first stage kit that was unveiled earlier this year. It includes a new front bumper with a lip spoiler and larger air-vents incorporating the firm's multifunctional daytime running light system which combines daytime running lamps, position light, parking light and direction indicators in one LED system unit and a common housing.

The kit also adds more prominent side skirts, a new rear apron with side air-vents and a large rear wing. The company notes that all components of the aero package are made from high-grade materials such as lightweight carbon fiber and hard-wearing polyurethane-RIM.

As with the Aerodynamic Kit I, the stage II package can be combined with TechArt's 'TA 097/T1' or 'TA 097/T2' performance upgrades that boost the 911 Turbo's output from the standard model's 500-horsepower to 570HP and 620HP respectively.

They say looks are subjective hence the Lumma-Design Cayenne may look like a gem or a pebble stone to you depending on your taste. Anyhow, what you see here is just a concept by Lumma Design.

Among the exterior modifications done to the Cayenne includes lip spoiler with integrated fog lights, LED running lights, headlight trim, and a ton of carbon fiber bits for the Cayenne's front end.

Its carbon-Kevlar hood will feature functional cooling vents and be raised slightly to cover the windshield wipers (reducing drag) around the cowl area.

Down the sides you can see Lumma's signature extra-wide fenders covering 22- or 23-inch wheels, between which are special air-directing side skirts helping to cool the rear brakes.

At the rear is the rest of Lumma's kit, which is a rear bumper, taillight trim, and a diffuser housing a very unique three-tipped exhaust.

Above that, there's a carbon spoiler mid-hatch and another strip of carbon which somehow "provide additional power".
